»Anyone who can sit on a stone in a field awhile can see my paintings.« (Agnes Martin)
On a Clear Day is the last piece of a performance series inspired by the translucent paintings of Agnes Martin. In her meditative choreography Milla Koistinen performs minimalistic repetitive patterns, which replicate the mesmeric sense of infinity in Martins paintings, projected into the space. They mingle and pursue a remarkable, hypnotic, compulsive, musical repetition, yet celebrate abstract glories of being: joy, beauty, innocence and happiness.
Milla Koistinen is a Finnish dancer and choreographer. Since 2008 she has been creating her own works, which have been performed at Dampfzentrale Bern, Fabriktheater Zurich, Sommerszene Salzburg, Tanzhaus NRW, Mad House Helsinki and Uferstudios Berlin, among others.
Canadian musician and composer Paul Valikoski is interested in collaborative performance and composition. He is a member of Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop and a guest of Ensemble Resonanz. He has collaborated with Susanne Kennedy, Michael Rauter, FC Bergman, Sabrina Hölzer and Mouse on Mars, among others.
Ladislav Zajac studied at the art academies of Nuremberg and Palermo and since 2009 has been working regularly for spatial and staged musical productions, among others with Sabrina Hölzer and Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop.
