Do you ever wish to restart? Which ME is on stage?

Frank Willens is Frank, is Levy, is Rami, is Jessy, is Queeny, is Disha, is Tebby, … – as vulnerable as inaccessible, as eerie as exhibited, he demands to be looked at. Watch me: my self-observing self.

With Strange Lunatics SEE! lead into the madness of normality. In a shrill forest of images between illusion and reality, dancer Frank Willens gathers together bizarre and everyday poses of self-dramatization from YouTube tutorials and Instagram stories. With overlapping gestures and new attitudes, he puts the self that has been portrayed at risk and shows a body on which all attributions disintegrate in glaring superimpositions. Use your mobile phone as virtual opera glasses! The strange lunatic is released for observation.

SEE! Performance consists of the choreographers and artists SE Struck and Alexandra Knieps, who form a group in cooperation with a permanent team of musicians, dancers and artists from other disciplines. Their interdisciplinary, space-oriented productions have been performed at various venues in NRW and beyond. At Ballhaus Ost they have shown »Ich bin ein Volumenjoker«, »Ok Panik« and »The Hype«.

Running time: 60 min.
Performance in English.
