One lived on the street. One was beaten at school. One was a drug addict. One was in prison. One was tortured. Both come from middle class families. Both have several children. Both act in movies. One owns a house by the sea.
Jorge Antonio Arias Cortez was born in May 1985 in Oruro in the Bolivian Altiplano, Nicola Fritzen in October 1978 in Berlin. For »Dos Vidas«, the two befriended actors compare their biographies, put them to a stress test and make themselves available for a sociological case study – with all the extremes, high points and painful details. Who reaches which social position with which global starting capital? Who succeeds in the ‘good life’, who tricks, who crashes? Did one of them draw the worse lot in the ‘lottery of birth’?
Since 1991 KLARA has been exploring different theatrical languages, new dramaturgies, and the blending of fictional and documentary performance. KLARA’s artistic director is Christoph Frick. The two protagonists of »Dos Vidas« know each other from the long-term research process for the last work »Palmasola,« which was shown at Ballhaus Ost in 2022.
Following the performance on Sunday, there will be a discussion format for German-Spanish language learning tandems. All language levels are welcome and no registration is necessary.
