Too Black for the theater world, too white for my mother, I chose the stage as an escape. “Report on My Past Life as a Black Woman” is a hybrid one-woman show blending dance, DJing, and storytelling. Behind the turntables, I deconstruct Afro-electronic sounds, from Amapiano to Gqom, to tell the story of a dual existence and explore the contradictions that run through it.
